Transferring objects using the copy & paste method can be performed only in FixMe.IT Control modes (Remote Desktop Control or Share Desktop Control) and NOT in View modes (Remote Desktop View or Share Desktop View):
|•||The Remote Desktop Control mode allows the Expert to transfer objects to and from the Client's machine.|
|•||The Share Desktop Control mode allows the Client to transfer objects to and from the Expert's machine.|
Note. Make sure that clipboard synchronization is enabled. Otherwise, the copy&paste function will not work.
To copy&paste content between the Expert and Client computers:
|1.||Select the object(s) (files, folders, or text) you would like to transfer (from the local computer to the remote computer, or vice versa).|
|2.||Copy the object(s): Right-click your mouse, and choose the Copy option from the context menu.|
Another way to copy the object(s): Select the object(s) and press CTRL+C.
|3.||Locate the destination where you would like to paste the object(s).|
|4.||Paste the object(s): Right-click your mouse and choose the Paste option from the context menu.|
Another way to paste the object(s): Press CTRL+V.
The progress bar will appear. It displays the estimated time remaining until the completion of the transfer.
Note. After the transfer of a large file or folder (10 MB or larger) to a Windows Vista machine, the selected file(s) or folder(s) may not at first appear to be pasted even though the progress bar has displayed the completion of the transfer. In this case, repeat the Paste operation by right-clicking the mouse and selecting the Paste option from the context menu. Another way to paste the object(s): Press CTRL + V. This problem arises when the file transfer takes about 5 or more minutes to complete, and is caused by a Microsoft limitation which exists on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
